The Male Stripper

My friend Jessica ministers at a homeless camp in St. Louis, where she’s helped rescue several missing girls.

Yesterday, she took the Gateway:61 church van down to the camp to offer rides to church.

She thought maybe one or two people would come, but SEVEN hopped in the van!

It was glorious to see her walk in with so many beautifully broken people, hungry for Jesus.

After service, I went to my car to get a leftover tray of food from our strip club outreach Friday night to give to them, and one of the young men walked up to me.

He said Jessica had shared a bit of my testimony with him, and he was really amazed at what God freed me from. He then told me he used to be a male stripper.

We had the sweetest conversation and I asked if I could pray for him. I had to hold him up to keep him from falling over in the peace and presence of God!

I told him God will do for him what He did for me and he was super relieved to hear this.

I also told him I saw him being baptized in the river so let’s see what God does!

Jessica snapped this photo.

Loving the lost and speaking life into the lonely is the greatest treasure. Thank you, Jesus!

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7
