Breakthrough in the Brothels!

We broke ground in the Greater St. Louis brothels! What we witnessed was heartbreaking, and yet, full of potential!

Over the past month, I’ve been pointing out illicit massage businesses to my daughter so she knows the truth of what’s going on in the world. The truth is that there’s a website that has “happy ending” reviews for 25,000 massage parlors across America. The truth is that this illicit industry rakes in 4.5 billion dollars a year.

Basically, for every Starbucks selling coffee, there’s a massage business selling sex. And on our July strip club outreach, we happened upon a row of massage businesses in the middle of nowhere, Illinois.

The good news is that the strip clubs we were there to visit were shut down—all three of them! So instead, we approached a brothel that month, and afterwards, the Lord told me to go back in August and hit em all up.

Last Friday, we encountered women at four massage parlors in one small area. These parlors were different than others I’ve been into in larger cities. It was clear the women lived in these homes, and my guess is that MANY are being housed there.

The women were mostly welcoming, giving us hugs of appreciation for the gift bags we gave them, with Asian snacks and candies, along with scriptures in Mandarin. One woman told us her brother is a pastor with his own church back in her home country. Her face was completely lit up as we drove off.

Another woman was super happy to see us, offering us water, hugs and money.

Her face had so much Botox and surgery done to it, with visible scarring, it made my own face and heart hurt for her.

Another woman nearly didn’t take the gift bags, but eventually she did, at the same time we noticed her pimp parked across the street watching us. Other than her, each woman smiled at us, hugged and embraced us. They all heard that Jesus loves them and were offered a beacon of hope, if only momentarily.

Why does it matter that we do this?

Because those women matter to God. And what matters to God, matters to us.

Because that’s what we do at Morning Glory Ministries. We don’t wait for people to come to us or our churches to meet Jesus. We go with Jesus to the highways and byways to meet people right where they are.

Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” Mark‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬
