61 Souls & Counting!

61 and Counting!

That was the heading of my email newsletter I sent out today.

Since launching Morning Glory Ministries in March, we’ve led 61 sexually exploited women to Christ! Sixty in and on strip club dance floors and dressing rooms, and one sweet street prostitute.

This photo is from our launch on March 1st in Indianapolis, when fifteen women gathered around and received the gospel of Jesus Christ and eternal salvation…in a strip club!!! 23 women in total gave their lives to the Lord that evening.

We had our next outreach on Good Friday, and after that it felt as though the ministry was falling apart, but it really was just a divine pivot. After two months of confusion as I stared at my stocked ministry shelves, unable to evangelize without a team, the Lord re-launched us in June, this time in St. Louis! And this time, with another bang!

The Lord made it abundantly clear that this was the region He was calling me to in the next season. We are now serving Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri, and I have no doubt more states and countries are coming soon! (Will it be yours?)

61.

61 hopeless, abused, lost, burdened women came to know their Savior.

61 women who are looked down upon, judged, and criticized, are now learning their identity in Christ. Women like I once was—the least of these.

In the nearly two years I’ve been involved in strip club ministry, I’ve rarely felt equipped or qualified. I often wrestled with God as to why He would choose someone who was once so wicked. I often wrestled with God as to why He would choose someone who’s been saved less than three years, for such a mighty mission.

He always just smiles at me. He reminds me that He pulled me from the darkness to help Him rescue others by being a beacon of hope and light.

He calls me Beloved.

He calls me His.

He calls me Redeemed.

People often say I make things look so easy, like I always have it together.

If only you knew what goes on behind the scenes, it’s a miracle I get up and smile every day! I laugh because it’s only in my weaknesses, I’m made strong in Him.

He equips me.

He qualifies me.

He chooses me time and again.

Flaws and all.

God’s overwhelming, never ending love is relentless! No matter who you are or what you’ve done, it’s only what God says about you that matters. No one is too far gone for God to save, restore, and redeem.

Isaiah 61:1-3

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
